Five things Friday number 40

I will share every Friday five things.  I will place them in no order of importance, just five things.   I will try not to over-explain.  In fact, I will attempt to explain nothing at all…..

Five things I like to say

1.  If you can't do the time, don't do the crime....'cause it's true

2. If you lie, you're stealing the truth from me.  You're not only a liar, but a thief too.

3. Good manners doesn't cost money.

4. If there's a shorter way, I'll find it....

5. If there's one person in the world who can do something, I can learn how to do that thing too....'cause I can!

Well?  What wisdoms come out of your mouth on a regular basis? ;-)

Five Things Friday number 34

I will share every Friday five things.  I will place them in no order of importance, just five things.   I will try not to over-explain.  In fact, I will attempt to explain nothing at all…..

Five things I hate doing:

1.      Ironing

ironing

2.      Shaving my legs

3.      Sitting in a car on a long drive

What are the things you hate to do so much you avoid it at all cost?

Five things Friday number 33

I will share every Friday five things.  I will place them in no order of importance, just five things.   I will try not to over-explain.  In fact, I will attempt to explain nothing at all…..

Five things I find comforting:

1.      Jesus  (my belief in Him has saved me many times out of desperate situations)

cross god
2.      A cup of tea

3.      A big plate of macaroni and cheese makes any dismal day seem brighter

4.      Doing something with my hands like making something

5.      The love I have in my home.

When things are going badly for you, what is there that gives you some form of comfort?

On being fashionable

I was agreeing with a twitter friend (@cyrilnaicker) on how lovely the fashions, hairstyles, architecture and dances (Charleston, anyone?) of the 1920’s are, when I thought to myself:  “Mmmm… but I’m glad I’m living now too.”

And lifestyle?  Where in the 20’s a married woman had no choice but to be a wife and mother, we now have a choice.  If you can afford to stay at home with your children, you can, but if you don’t want to, nobody’s going to make a fuss over it.
I like that I can choose what to wear every day.  In the 20’s the dresses were rather shapeless – and though I do love it so much, frankly on my body it would not have looked well.  Believe me, I’ve tried on those long-line low-waisted dresses.

I like that I can wear pants today, a dress tomorrow, a skirt, high heels, low heels, flat shoes, bright colours, muted colours.  I like that I can be….well, me!
